The Post 9/11 Veterans Poker Tournament: A Day of Fun, Community, and Impact
This year’s Post 9/11 Veterans Poker Tournament was an incredible success, and we’re thrilled to share the results of this unforgettable event. With the support of our amazing sponsors, players, and community, we raised an impressive $22,610 to support veterans and their families. It was a day filled with camaraderie, competitive spirit, and a shared commitment to giving back to those who have served our country.
A Packed House and a Full Deck of Fun
The event was held at O’Brien’s Pub in Carrollwood, which was packed with energy and excitement from the moment the doors opened until the final hand was played. Players from all over came together to show their support, filling the room with laughter, focus, and the unmistakable sound of poker chips being shuffled.
The day was a true testament to the power of community. From seasoned card sharks to first-time players, everyone brought their A-game to the tables, all while keeping the mission of the event close to their hearts: supporting veterans who have served since 9/11 and ensuring they have the resources and opportunities they deserve.
Generous Sponsors Made It All Possible
This event would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of our sponsors. StateWide Safety Services, PSI Pipeline Supply, Atlantic TNG, J. Disney Trucking, Maschmeyer, International Diamond Center, What The Buc, and so many others stepped up to ensure the tournament’s success. Their support not only helped us cover event costs but also allowed us to maximize the funds raised for our veterans.
We’re deeply grateful to these businesses and organizations for their commitment to making a difference in the lives of those who have served. Their contributions are a shining example of how communities can come together to create meaningful change.
A Thrilling Day of Poker Action
As the tournament progressed, the competition heated up, with players battling it out to secure their spot at the final table. The room buzzed with excitement as the stakes grew higher, and it became clear that this was more than just a game—it was a celebration of community, resilience, and giving back.
The final table was a nail-biter, with skilled players showcasing their strategy, nerve, and poker-faced determination. In the end, Todd Migacz and Joe Galanti emerged as the winners, taking home the top prizes and earning bragging rights for the year. Congratulations to both of them for their well-deserved victories!
More Than Just a Game
While poker was the centerpiece of the day, the event was about so much more than cards and chips. It was about coming together to honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans, many of whom face unique challenges after their time in uniform. The funds raised will go directly toward initiatives that provide veterans with the support, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive in civilian life.
Whether it’s through scholarships, career development programs, or mental health resources, every dollar raised will make a tangible impact in the lives of veterans and their families.
Thank You to Everyone Who Made It Happen
To the players, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who made this event possible: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your generosity, enthusiasm, and commitment to our veterans were on full display, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
A special shoutout to O’Brien’s Pub in Carrollwood for hosting us and providing the perfect venue for a day of fun and fundraising. Your hospitality and support made all the difference.

The success of this year’s Post 9/11 Veterans Poker Tournament has inspired us to dream even bigger for next year. With your continued support, we’re confident that we can make an even greater impact in the lives of our veterans and their families.
Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Together, we’re showing our veterans that their service and sacrifice are never forgotten—and that their community stands with them, every step of the way.
